Duration approx. 120 minutes, incl. interval

The last grand chamber concert of Kammermusik plus revolves around hidden magic. In Mozart's «Magic Flute», this magic is supposed to enlighten Tamino if he passes the tests set for him. In Paul Dukas' work, the sorcerer's apprentice tries his hand at his master's art with fatal consequences - the popular work is performed in a new arrangement for piano trio.

In his clarinet quintet, Thomas Adès explores musical alchemy in early modern England. With this fascinating, beautiful and emotional work, he has probably created one of the best chamber music works of our time.

The second part of the concert presents Lili Boulanger's «D'un soir triste», the magic of which lay hidden for a long time before the work was once again able to enchant concert halls with its beauty. Although the same does not apply to Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante in E flat major (for violin, viola and orchestra), it does apply to the anonymous sextet arrangement of the work.
