Part of «Chamber Music Plus»
Christian Mason: «Figures in a landscape (awaiting eternity» for clarinet, violin, violoncello and piano with additional off-stage ensembles (trumpet, organ and strings) (2024)
World Premiere – Commissioned by the Festival Musikdorf Ernen
Horațiu Rădulescu: «Agnus Dei» for two violas op. 84
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: String Quintet C major KV 515
Duration approx. 70 minutes, no interval
The world premiere of the new work by Composer in Residence Christian Mason promises a unique listening experience! Inspired by the landscape of Ernen and the sounds moving through it, Mason creates a holistic sound experience by supplementing the four musicians on stage with other groups of instruments distributed throughout the church.
This is complemented by Rădulescu's music, which resembles a mystical ritual, and Mozart's masterpiece for five string instruments, which sparkles with musical dialogue.
