Part of «Chamber Music Plus»
Johann Sebastian Bach: Concerto A major for Piano and Strings BWV 1055
Karl Amadeus Hartmann: Chamber Concert for Clarinet, String Quartet and String Orchestra (1930–1935)
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Adagio and Fugue C minor for Strings K. 546
Josef Suk: Serenade for String Orchestra E flat major op. 6
Duration approx. 120 minutes, incl. interval
The festive final concert of Kammermusik plus presents not only two outstanding soloists, but also Mozart's bold fugue skills, which he had learnt while studying the works of Bach and Handel. But first Paolo Giacometti shines in Johann Sebastian Bach's lively, typically Italian Piano Concerto in A major, and Matthew Hunt in Hartmann's thrilling chamber concerto inspired by Hungarian folklore.
The grand finale is Josef Suk's youthful, fresh and optimistic String Serenade. He composed it as an 18-year-old, shortly after meeting his future wife Otilie, daughter of Antonín Dvořák.
