Johann Sebastian Bach: Preludes and Fugues no. 13–24 BWV 858–869 from the «Well-Tempered Clavier» – Book I

Duration approx. 70 minutes

Hans von Bülow called it the Old Testament of piano music - the 24 preludes and fugues of the «Well-Tempered Clavier». In the two Saturday recitals, Angela Hewitt performs this encyclopaedia of musical characters and the art of fugue writing. Hewitt's special merits for the music of Johann Sebastian Bach were honoured in 2020 with the Bach Medal of the City of Leipzig.
