For the first time, the «Newcomers» weekend will present not only the prizewinners of the Orpheus Swiss Chamber Music Competition but also an emerging pianist: Giorgi Iuldashevi is a prizewinner of the Kiefer Hablitzel | Göhner Musikpreis.
For his debut in the Musikdorf Ernen, he brings with him a poetic programme from all over Europe. Beethoven's famous «Moonlight Sonata» and Franz Liszt's music inspired by his reading of Dante. Plus the virtuoso ballet music from Tchaikovsky's evergreen «The Nutcracker» and the monumental music of César Franck, who looked back into history as an organist and yet was very modern, which is just as true of Maurice Ravel and his «Pavane».
