In keeping with the twilight that will envelop the Lower Goms valley at concert time when viewed from Ernen Church, this programme is dedicated to the twilight hours. The cycle of day and night, and especially the in-between periods, has long fascinated artists.
Some of the most fascinating late Romantic-Impressionist trio works will be performed, by Mel Bonis, her classmate Claude Debussy and the younger Lili Boulanger. In addition, there will be a full day cycle composed by Turina, a Spaniard who lived in Paris for many years; the mental borderline experience of Sally Beamish and the romantic, somnambulistic Adagio by Franz Schubert.
Trio Gaspard:
Jonian Ilias Kadesha, Violin
Vashti Hunter, Violoncello
Nicholas Rimmer, Piano
