For the opening concert of the Baroque Weeks 2023, Aernen Barock has chosen an all-Italian programme. An enthrailing experience is guaranteed!
But all the composers turned their backs on Italy for a time: Violin virtuoso Veracini jumped out of a 2nd-floor window in Dresden, Vivaldi sought his faded glory in Vienna, Sammartini was a star oboist in London and Dall'Abaco followed the Bavarian Elector across Europe. Durante was briefly in Bratislava and – quite untypical – did not write anything for the opera.
