Gramophone magazine wrote of the British soprano Julia Doyle that she sings "with quicksilver suppleness, stylistic acumen and immaculate communication of the text". In her first appearance in the Musikdorf Ernen, the baroque specialist sings Bach's wonderful cantata "Ich bin vergnügt mit meinem Glücke" and Handel's virtuoso motet "Silete Venti".
With instrumental music by Telemann and Hasse, two other authorities of late baroque music are represented in the programme and: Music by Johann Caspar Ferdinand Fischer will be performed for the first time in Ernen – among others, Fischer's works inspired Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier.
