The "Newcomers" weekend presents prize-winning ensembles of the Orpheus Swiss Chamber Music Competition. This year, three outstanding ensembles that succeeded at the 2022 competition make their debut, and two former winners return to the Musikdorf.
Jaume Angelès Fité, the violinist of the Helix Trio, is an accomplished chamber musician: in the opening concert of the "Newcomers" series he plays the second violin in the Atenea Quartet. In Chamber Concert 4 he performs with his piano trio.
The trio brings music from their Spanish homeland to Ernen, outstanding, rarely heard works from the rich musical culture of Spain around 1900, joined by the expressive trio by Edvard Grieg and a youthful work by Claude Debussy.
