Franz Schubert: 4 Impromptus D 899
Franz Schubert: Three Piano Pieces D 946
Franz Schubert: Hungarian Melody in B minor for piano D 817
Duration approx. 75 minutes, no interval
‘Schubertiade’ in Ernen – Five concerts, one composer. Dasol Kim, Hisako Kawamura and Fabian Müller explore Schubert's piano works: not only the famous late sonatas – those too! – but also Schubert's fascinating music for piano four hands.
Fabian Müller's programme refers directly to the previous recital by Hisako Kawamura. With the Impromptus D 899, he completes Schubert's consecutively numbered movements, which far exceed the nimbus of the seemingly improvised short piece. The Three Piano Pieces D 946, which were composed in the last year of Schubert's life, open up existential abysses. The short Hungarian Melody, on the other hand, seems in this context like a memory of a carefree time.
