The opening concert of the 2026 Kammermusikfest, entitled «Air Flow», focuses on the air flowing in music and centres on two woodwind instruments.
The young award-winning flutist Manuel Astudillo Quintero makes his debut in the Musikdorf Ernen with two outstanding works of flute chamber music: Mozart's lively flute quartet and Francis Poulenc's elegant, melancholic flute sonata, the latter accompanied by the young, up-and-coming pianist Francesco Granata, who has already delighted audiences in the Musikdorf Ernen as a member of the Wendel Quartet.
English clarinettist Matthew Hunt, a long-time favourite of audiences in Musikdorf Ernen, will also be performing two chamber music works: Camille Saint-Saëns' beautiful late Romantic clarinet sonata and Jean Françaix's playful trio.
