Ensemble in Residence
The Musikdorf Ernen promotes promising young chamber music ensembles in many ways. One of these is the ensemble residency in the inspiring cultural location of Ernen.
Since 2024, young chamber music groups have been given the opportunity to work together as Ensembles in Residence during a two-week residency in Musikdorf Ernen. These Ensembles in Residence can use the time and the ideal rehearsal facilities for activities they consider essential for their artistic development as a group. They develop program ideas and concert formats, work on their shared artistic vision, and shape their future as ensembles. During the residency, the groups also find time to grow together through shared activities in the cultural space of Ernen and its wonderful surrounding nature. Furthermore, they have the opportunity to select a renowned musician for mentorship. Of course, the festival management is also available for discussions regarding the strategic development of the ensemble. This project is a form of support for young chamber music talent that is unique in Switzerland.
