For his debut in the Musikdorf Ernen, Swiss pianist Simon Bürki has chosen Robert Schumann's «Kreisleriana», a key work of Romantic piano music in which the composer has created a musical self-portrait based on E.T.A. Hoffmann's figure of Kapellmeister Kreisler.
With a selection of Préludes and Études-Tableaux, Bürki also demonstrates his affinity with the great Russian piano composer Rachmaninov and at the same time his own pianistic aspirations as one of the most promising Swiss pianists of his generation.
