Introduced by Johann Sebastian Bach's three-part inventions – and briefly interrupted by the work Funken (Sparks), premiered in 2025 by the A-Delta Trio and composed by the young Spanish composer Guiomar Ortiz, which musically captures the moment when a spark ignites – the debut programme of the A-Delta Trio, winner of the 2025 Orpheus Competition, showcases the musical diversity of the early 20th century.
It includes works adapted for saxophone trio by the Hungarian Leó Weiner, the Polish-born Alexandre Tansman, who made Paris his home, and George Gershwin, the musical boundary-crosser between jazz and classical music.
