As part of its residency at the Musikdorf Ernen, the Helix Trio presents a concert featuring Robert Schumann's first piano trio in D minor and Maurice Ravel's only piano trio in A minor – both masterpieces of their respective eras.
In between, Claire-Mélanie Sinnhuber's work Les roses heroïques will be performed. The work is not heroic in tone. It features dreamy sounds, sophisticated textures and gentle (like moonlight) luminous harmonies. The composer borrowed the title from a work by Paul Klee – ‘because of its gentle sound, the repetition of syllables, the association with a flower, but above all because of the paradox it contains.’
According to the composer, the piece unfolds from ‘exquisite sounds (stony sounds of the piano, caressing strings)’ and aims to ‘make the glow of gentleness audible’.
